Why it's important to take your medications properly

Taking all of your medications and vitamins exactly as prescribed by your doctor is essential to staying your healthiest. With kidney disease, your body may start to process food, minerals, and medications differently—and on dialysis, additional nutrients are removed in the treatment process. Staying on track with your medications helps your body maintain balance, so you can feel your best.

Managing your medication costs

Medication costs can vary, depending on your insurance plan and prescription coverage. Talk to your care team if you need help understanding how much your prescriptions will cost. Your care team can also help you figure out your options and help identify financial support or assistance programs.
