Ingredients

  • 1 medium fresh red cabbage, shredded (about 4 cups)
  • 1 cup fresh onion, chopped
  • 3 cups fresh apples, peeled, cored, sliced
  • ¼ cup red wine vinegar
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Description

Directions

  1. Grease a large casserole dish.
  2. Mix all ingredients except butter in a large bowl. Transfer to casserole dish. Dot with butter.
  3. Cover casserole dish and cook at 300° F for 2 ½ hours.
